Type: Flying/Electric

Abilities: Own Tempo – cannot be Confused

Evolution: Strikop, evolving at level 45

Historic research: These Pokemon date back to the times when such Pokemon as Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres first appeared. They often lived among Zapdos nests to help improve the flow of electricity to their bodies. In return, the Martwings would be loyal to the Zapdos, acting a little like servents, carrying out small tasks.

Observational research: The Martwing catches its food while flying, and therefore appears never to stand on the ground. When required to stay still, they hover.
They have no use of their feet, as other bird Pokemon do. And if they fall on the ground, they can't raise to their feet, as others do, and prepare themselves for flight.

Post-mortem research: Post-mortem research suggests that this bird has several tiny organs located around the body to aid balance when in flight or landing in nests. These organs also tend to aid electricity-based attacks that require stillness and balance. In addition, they have incredibly strong and enduring wing muscles that hardly ever have time to relax due to the fact that they cannot rest on the ground.

Additional research: Martwings are very shy creatures, and will only show their true power to a trainer that they trust completely. Although these are shy beings, they move impeccably quickly, and often throw powerful attacks then flee. They tend to avoid fights if at all possible, because they are peaceful birds; however, they will never back down from a fight that must be fought for an important reason. They are very loyal.
